Emily + David's Speakeasy Carnival Wedding at The RomeMary Barn

Emily and David’s laid back, easy-going style was the inspiration for this Speakeasy Carnival at The RoseMary Barn complete with the Steel Betty Band out of Austin and a myriad of carnival games to be enjoyed by all their guests. They had told me at our first meeting that their friends and family are very important to them and they really wanted to spend as much time as possible celebrating with all their guests. Emily also really wanted her and David’s first look to be outside even though it was raining all day the day of their wedding, so we did just as she desired! It was the most romantic first look! Her bouquet created by Haute Poppies Floral featured a fabulous succulent and the entire venue had a vintage boho vibe. Emily and David read their own vows during their romantic ceremony and then enjoyed a cocktail hour while the Steel Betty Band played for all the guests. In lieu of a wedding cake, there was a pie table provided by Emporium Pies and donut wall provided by The Donut Kitchen for all to enjoy! The sparkler sendoff was the perfect ending to their love-filled wedding day!

Laine + Connor's Whimsical Garden Engagement

Laine and Connor met in college and then went their separate ways after graduation only to reconnect at a friend’s wedding a few years later. Their love story began and they have not looked back! Laine and Connor have such an easy going relationship and he can make her laugh with the slightest whisper. I’m not sure what he is saying, but her reaction is so precious! They will be married this summer at The RoseMary Barn and I can not wait to capture every moment for them!

We started their engagement session at The Dallas Arboretum. Laine’s fuchsia dress with Connor’s navy jacket proved perfection among the winter garden colors at the Arboretum. We finished up at White Rock Lake for a casual ending to the day with golden fields and the sparkling blue lake.

Enjoy a sample of their beautiful engagement gallery!

XOXO,

Jen

A Christmas Arrival | Studio Newborn Session

Little Levi arrived at Christmas time so we had to incorporate this into his studio newborn session! With white curly felted wool and a single star we put his Christmas hat on that his mom brought to his session to create a special Christmas memory for his family! I love capturing the details of a newborn…their little lips, their tiny feet, rosy cheeks and some even have hair like Levi! I also love incorporating special items that mean a lot to mom and dad. In Levi’s session, we were able to include mom and dad’s wedding rings. a special feather signifying Levi’s Native American heritage as well as a special bear made from dad’s army uniform. Documenting a newborn is a labor of love for me. This little one has been welcomed into one of my favorite families and I so look forward to continuing to create special memories for this family in the years to come!

Michelle + Javier's Simple and Romantic Engagement

Michelle and Javier will be married this fall at The RoseMary Barn venue in McKinney, an all white, shiplap barn venue that is a photographer’s dream! Michelle’s style is simple and romantic. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens was the perfect spot to begin Michelle and Javier’s engagement session. Even though this was a fall engagement session, we were able to find lots of beautiful color at the Arboretum.

Michelle wore the most perfect lavender dress! I absolutely love the way Javier looks at her!

We finished up this session at the docks at White Rock Lake, Dallas. The sunset was beautiful and Michelle’s eyes caught every last ray.

I can not wait to capture this love story on their wedding day this fall!

Milk Bath + Cake Smash Fun in Studio

Kahlan is turning one!  This girl knows how to enjoy life!  She enthusiastically enjoyed each of her studio set-ups.  I can not get over her eyes...oh, and that little two-toothed smile!  So happy to have clients that I get to photograph over the seasons of their lives...truly a joy!

Jessica + Bradon's Romantic Estate Wedding

Jessica and Bradon's Elegant Southern Plantation wedding was refined and romantic.  The Milestone at Aubrey was the perfect venue for this bride and groom to be married.  Jessica planned for lots of soft hues and candlelight to highlight her wedding day.  She explained that this was the perfect way to express her and Bradon's love story.  The day was full with friends and family coming together to celebrate.  During the ceremony, the groom's sisters read aloud a poem about Jessica + Bradon's relationship and the bride and groom recited their own vows to each other.  After dancing the night away, the couple was wished well as they exited with a sparkler sendoff.

Anastasia + Shankar's Old World Style Romantic Engagement

Anastasia and Shankar will be married in Shankar's home village in India this December.  Shankar saw Anastasia in a local hangout one evening...she was sitting all alone and he was so intrigued by her beauty that he had to talk with her.  Once he met her he knew that not only is she beautiful on the outside, but within lies even deeper beauty.  Their love story began that night and has blossomed into a deep, abiding love that shows in their engagement portraits.  In old world style, this romantic engagement session was perfect for their story.

Jessica's Elegant Southern Plantation Bridals

Soft window light illuminated Jessica's perfect features. Her romantic updo adorned with flowers frame her face beautifully. The hushed pallet of her ivory and blush florals compliment her romantic drop sleeve lace dress.  The finishing touch of her crystal adorned cathedral veil completes her wedding day elegance.

Jordan + Chris marry at The Laurel

Jordan and Chris' romantic blush and navy wedding at the Laurel was a summer spectacle.  Jordan's all lace gown and crystal accented veil from LuLu's Bridal was perfect on her!  The soft and romantic florals by Anna Rayner set the scene for what was to come!  Take a look at the bridal bouquet!  The intimate chapel ceremony was followed by a love-filled reception where the toasts focused on two families becoming one.  The evening ended with a sparkler send-off and bride and groom being swept away in a classy limo!  I can't get enough of how these two look at each other!  So sweet!

Kaylyn + Marcus First Christian Church Wedding

Family traditions play such an important role when two become one...Marcus gave Kaylyn her wedding band when he proposed to her as his family traditions go and she would not see her diamond until the ceremony! We were all so excited to see her reaction! She was thrilled with her ring Marcus gave to her but what touched my heart most was seeing how her gaze was fixed on her soulmate while he placed the ring on her finger! It was clear that he was much more a treasure to her than anything this world has to offer! Check out her stunning ring tho! Lucky girl! .

When Marcus proposed to Kaylyn in his hometown in Sweden the only thing he asked for was a formal church wedding.  He wore his dad's tuxedo and Kaylyn had a stunning cathedral veil.  With Marcus being from "across the pond," he and Kaylyn had their own royal wedding! Their first dance was "Beauty and the Beast" and it was perfect!  I am such a lucky girl to be able to capture this true to life fairy tale love story!
